Motorcycle Mesh
What kind(s) of motorcycle jacket(s) should I purchase as a new rider?
I’m just getting my first bike, and I’m wondering what the best kind of jacket is. I live in an area that is pretty hot and humid in the summer and cold during fall evenings (I’m going to be stretching my riding season as much as possible). Will I be miserable if I get just a vented leather jacket? Are these mesh and/or textile riding jackets I see for sale enough to protect me from pavement skid? Is there a good kind of jacket that will be appropriate in hot and cold weather? Thanks.
For Winter and Fall weather I prefer leather jackets with armor.
For Spring and Summer riding, I prefer a ventilated textile jacket with armor.

As for skid protection…leather is good as long as it’s thick enough (at least 1.2 mm) and check on the material that the textile jacket is made out of and then do some research on the net to see if it’s a good protective material (cordura, kevlar, etc.). In most cases, you’re going to get what you pay for.
