How can a police radar be accurate when the supposed speeder is in the passing lane,(there are 3-4 lanes) and?
he is in the far right lane in the shoulder and the traffic is highly conjested with semi trucks and cars all going 70-80 mph and he is in a car, not a motorcycle looking through a little peephole trying to catch a vehicle with probably 30-40 other cars coming his way
In the situation you give, the radar will still pick up and display speeds. Its more difficult for the officer to determine which speed the signal is coming from when traffic is very heavy unless the vehicle is traveling quite a bit faster than the rest of the traffic. Now, in the same situation, a lidar unit will work very well since it is vehicle specific.
